The North State Skate Series put on by Skate MVMT was this past weekend and if you missed it, better luck next time. The first comp was suppose to be up in Mt Shasta but had to be canceled because of the fires but the Anderson event on Sept 22 was a go. This being the first event of the NS3 season the turn out ended up being great. The day was perfect. Competitions started at 11 with the grom kids going first. It was awesome to see a but on under 12 kids skating and killing it. Most are way better skaters than I ever was.
The first thing I take away from these local comps is that the Redding NorCal area definitely has a lot of quality skaters. We may not have the best parks in California but these kids represent well.
The next competition is in Red Bluff on October 6th. There will be a make up day up in Mt Shasta on October 13th and then the final will be in Corning on the 20th. Boardmart will be at the Corning event like we were at the Anderson comp representing the shop. Come by hang out and watch some great local skaters. The Corning park is very new and a site to behold. That city spend some great money and it shows. Always a great day.
