O.K. there really is no debate here I just felt like I had to put in my two cents. Why argue? If you are the type of person who just wants to cruise around the lake behind the boat and not get technical then go tubing. You will be at the mercy of the driver which means you are back there for everyone else's entertainment, not really yours. It can be fun and it is a great opportunity to be goofy. If you really want to try putting the fun into your own hands try one of the new towables from HO Sports the the RAD's (Round Aquatic Devices), Or the FAD's (Fun Aquatic Devices). The new towables put the rope in your hand and like wakeboards and skis you have control but are not locked in and can maneuver wherever you like.
Wakeboarding if obviously for those you want to really get into doing some kind of tricks or want to have the snowboarding feel. You can carve the wake, jump around and do all those cool tricks we all see in videos. If you are not into tricks a lot of us just like carving and cruising. Still a blast to feel the drive of a turn and leave a big spray behind.
Bottom line here the two are not really related except for the fact they are both done in water and you get behind the boat. The only thing that matters here is did you have fun. Good. Then go do it again.
